Our Vision

A world where everyone continues to learn.

We believe that learning nurtures wisdom hence learning brings a better world, through continuous development and harmonious living.

Our Mission

To create an environment where everyone wants to and able to continuously learn and let learn, through the practice of our philosophies.

Logo & Philosophy

Wisdom Woods is created for specific purposes as described in our Vision and Mission. The birth of our logo has also deliberately encapsulated the philosophy of the ‘how’ we hope to walk the journey.

Woods

The motif of the logo is clearly intended to symbolise the term ‘Woods’, represented by trees standing together. The ‘Woods’, or forest, is a mysterious place, yet full of vibrant and diverse living creatures and flora, with hidden intelligence gifted by nature. The very name of ‘Wisdom Woods’ embodies our hope to offer a place, both tangible and intangible, where everyone has the the opportunities to uncover all types of knowledge and treasure of the mind, to feed and nurture the growth of wisdom from within every individuals.

Diversity

The images of the trees are created to be deliberately different from each other, representing the distinctive nature of every individual, yet standing and living together in harmony. It is our belief that the diversity in people should be recognised and celebrated because it is essential in ensuring the co-existence and continuous development of human civilisations; much like in the woods, where the very existence of different life forms living collaboratively hence ensuring the circle of life is complete and sustainable.
Diversity also give rise to different perspectives and different needs. It is also our belief that everyone is born with the capacity to be happy and to unleash potentials. The mere difference in perspectives of what happiness and potentials are and the needs required to achieve them for different people should not be confused with the lack of ability. Therefore, we believe that everyone can learn, and the key lies in the availability of the appropriate resources and approaches.

Roots

The trees are rooted and the roots from different trees are intertwined with each other, which by nature allows the trees to stand strong together and to have the capacity to withstand all types natural environmental pressures and even disasters. We hope to instill this century-old value of teamwork in people, allowing people to understand the importance of collaborative living and the journey towards it. We also hope to harness the synergistic collaborations with partners, including all types of partners traditionally known as vendors, colleagues etc, to achieve our vision and mission, as well as to share the adventure with us.
Furthermore, the trees are also different in sizes, illustrating that the ‘older’ trees has responsibilities in supporting the growth of the ‘younger’ trees; translating this concept to people, the ‘older’ can mean the ‘more knowledgeable’, ‘more experienced’, ‘more resourceful’ and alike, should bear some responsibilities to guide those who may need their guidance.
Furthermore, the roots were also deliberately illustrated to be strong and steady, representing the significance of having a strong and steady foundation in life, and in fact, in most things we do and pursue.

Neural Circuits

If you put on a pair of new eyes, you will discover that the logo can also exhibit the neural circuits of our nervous system, where the circles represent the neurons whilst the stems represent the synapses. Scientifically, the more developed and the more connected the neural circuits in our brain are can be associated with better intelligence. We aspire to offer and inspire learnings that not only improves intelligence but more importantly that cultivates wisdoms. The incomplete connectivity and the differences in size illustrate the point that we are not perfect and continuous learning is a never ending journey.

Balance

On another note, some circles are filled and some are unfilled, representing the ancient Chinese concept of ‘yin’ and ‘yang’. In brief, the concept proposes that the things in the world exist in opposites, like darkness and brightness or sadness and happiness, and that one can only coexist with its opposite, where harmony is achieved when balance is achieved between the opposites. Even more brief, balance is important to achieve harmony.

Colour

Instead of the traditional green for images of trees, we have chosen orange for two distinct reasons. One obvious reasons is we want to be rather different and distinctive; more importantly, whilst green is the colour of spring, orange is the colour of autumn. Being in education for growth, even though spring is a good conventional starting point, we chose autumn to illustrate a different perspective. In autumn, it can also be a starting point, when the trees begin to rejuvenate itself by first shedding unuseful leaves; much like the shedding of unfavourable habits. When it turns winter, some trees may be without leaves but they are still standing in harmony; much like a person with new mindset finding inner peace with ownself to rethink life, set goals and perhaps even plan and strategise. When spring comes, the trees start to grow and reaching its height in summer; much like an energised person springing into actions until full potential is reached, thereby reaching a full cycle when the person can begin to reflect on achievement by autumn whereby new ideas are waiting to be conceptualised.
